Consultation with Parents and Schools
Dr. Shore is available to consult with parents and schools about a range of issues relating to children and teens.
In working with parents, his goal is to help them become more skilled and confident in dealing with their concerns related to their child and more understanding of how to work with the school system to help their child. Some of topics about which he consults with parents include:
- Child-rearing concerns
- Behavioral problems at home or in school
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- Learning disability
- Bullying
- Supporting their child’s academic skills
Working effectively with their child’s school- Understanding and negotiating the special-education maze
In working with schools, Dr. Shore aims to help school staff become more effective in responding to the needs of its students by promoting understanding rather than assigning labels and by helping them identify untapped resources and implement effective school strategies.
